Fourth of July is the perfect time to take advantage of the bright hot days of summer and celebrate outside with family and friends.
We’ve rounded up our top 5 favorite things to do outside in the backyard or park to celebrate the fourth!
1. Play Croquet
Easy to set up, and fun for kids and adults alike. A great game to play while you sip a drink, and plenty of downtime to rest in the shade between turns. Instructions on how to set up & play the game can be found here: http://www.wikihow.com/Set-up-Croquet
You could even get a tournament going and award a prize to the winner. Might we suggest our DipStix Grab & Go Big Bubble Kit as the prize?
2. Blow Big Bubbles
Blow bubbles at sunset as you wait for the fireworks to start. Marvel at them, chase them, pop them, and maybe even test out making blue and red bubbles with a few drops of food coloring! Play some of our favorite bubble games, and don’t forget to review our 11 secrets for blowing huge bubbles.
We recommend beeboo Big Bubble Mix for the most amazing big bubbles, together with our two-handled big bubble wands. Or, buy a complete kit with everything you need to get the whole family blowing big bubbles!
3. Musical Chairs
Put all those lawn chairs to good use, and pump up the music to get this game started. If you don’t remember the rules, refresh your memory over at wikipedia.
4. Eat Fourth of July colored popsicles
Make them yourself (great recipe here), or buy the traditional Rocket Pops. The perfect treat to relax eat outside.
5. Sparkler Games
Here’s a fun one: set your camera on a slow shutter speed (or use the video function) then take turns trying to write your name, words, and shapes with your sparkler while capturing it on film!
